Several years ago, I read The Practice of the Presence of God by a seventeenth century monk named Brother Lawrence. I was less than thrilled to be reading said book, and had it not been part of the required reading for the class I was taking at the time, I probably would have never picked it up. As I began reading, however, I was inspired by the way in which Brother Lawrence was able to see and experience God at all times in all places. Had he been alive in the age of social media, I think Brother Lawrence would have developed an amazing following with his insightful posts about being in relationship with God and experiencing Him through the most ordinary of experiences.
That little book had an enormous impact on the way I see the world. It has served as a catalyst causing me to look for ways everyday life experiences can draw our attention to who God is, how God works, and what God expects. That’s what you will find on this blog. Every week I hope to publish a new post that will hopefully serve to inspire, challenge, and engage people in an exercise of seeing and experiencing God and His Word in the everyday and the ordinary. I hope you find encouragement and maybe some entertainment here. And, bear with me from time to time when the content becomes educational. I’ll try to keep it to a minimum…
