Who Is It REALLY About? Our Focus in Worship Matters!

W

While Jeremy is making his way back to the US from India, today’s blog is a guest post by Nathan Parker, Pastor of Worship and Media at FBC Seymour. As a worship pastor, I’ve come across many parody videos of worship songs and hymns over the years. While some are a bit corny, some are downright hilarious! One in particular that always sticks out in my memory has a man at the piano singing...

Church Prom: After Easter

C

Easter Sunday is arguably the most well-attended Sunday of the year for churches. Mother’s Day and Christmas Eve (when it falls on a Sunday) both compete for the highest attendance of the year, but neither of those holidays can compete with the energy, engagement, and elevated style of Easter Sunday. Members of different churches from all over Seymour, Indiana came together on the campus of FBC to celebrate the work and person of Jesus Christ. The intent of the service was to put aside the things that divide us, in order that we might focus...

Worship: More than a Song

W

Jeremy is currently abroad on a mission trip, sharing the love of Jesus in the Dominican Republic. This week’s guest post is by Nathan Parker, who serves on the pastoral staff with Jeremy at FBC Seymour. Worship. What comes to your mind when you hear that word? For some, it’s a lighted stage with a band playing the latest Hillsong tune. For others it’s a traditional sanctuary...
